The night of April 24 (Tuesday), I dined at this newly-opened restaurant in The Fort serving delightful Asian dishes in an eat-all-you-can buffet setting. The name is Roboto San: Japanese Grill Buffet. I would find out later that it belongs to the same group that brought us SumoSam: Steaks Seafood Sushi, John and Yoko: Cosmopolitan Japanese, Marciano's: Pizza Pasta Steaks and Mr. Kurosawa Euro-Japanese.
As with all buffets I’ve been to, I was overwhelmed with the bulk of food waiting to feast on. But unlike those other buffets I’ve tried in the past, this one has a good mix of raw and cooked food items.
The cooked ones you just transfer from the big platters to your plate. The raw ones, which include fresh seafood, vegetables, cold cuts and marinated raw meats, on the other hand, are cooked using smokeless grills attached to the individual dining tables.
Does the food selection sound familiar to you? Yes, their concept is like that of Yakimix and Sambokojin except that they have a hipper and more modern vibe, a more intimate and relaxing ambience and they change their menu regularly to give their customers something to look forward to in every visit. Plus, I heard the food selection is a culinary masterpiece perfected by three celebrated chefs namely: Corporate Chef Christine Nicole Nicolas, Executive Chef Benjamin Gonzales and Chef Consultant Florabel Co-Yatco. How’s that for unique?
As for the food, I liked everything I ate. Actually, I just chose a few favorites and skipped on the rest. Aside from the fresh seafood, marinated raw meats and savory Asian dishes, I spotted fresh salads, hearty soups, some Korean appetizers, Chinese dimsum and of course, desserts!
And here are the food that went straight to my tummy:

For unlimited drinks, you just add P75 on top of the buffet price. There are two choices during my visit: iced tea and lemonade. I wonder if they have soft drinks on offer, so much better if they do.
I see Roboto San as a good dining place for families, barkadas and yuppies working around the area. It offers a fun dining experience especially if you love robots and have appreciation for anything technology and future-related. Plus, the interiors of the restaurant (bird's nest design highlighted in purple walls and interlacing white wooden panels) are already a feast for the eyes. And when you get to the buffet spread, another feast gladly awaits you.
