It was my first time to visit Magnolia Flavor House at the newly opened Robinsons Magnolia in Gilmore, Quezon City. For the company I was with (the hubby and his family), though, it was like revisiting the house of an old friend. Apparently, back in the time when the hubby and his sister A were little, they used to frequent the place, which was then known as the original Magnolia Ice Cream House. Talk about reminiscing a sweet and creamy past, huh!
Magnolia Flavor House sits at the outdoor part of the mall alongside a soon-to-open Starbucks store. At first sight, it looks like a small posh canteen. I loved how the pastel-colored interiors give out a cheery vibe. It's really an inviting place and once you see the various ice cream treats served by the wait staff to the customers seated on the tables, everything starts to get more inviting and fun.
Actually, we went there just for desserts after having a not-so-exciting but affordable lunch at Adobo Connection. However, upon browsing thru the back-to-back one page menu, I couldn't resist the tempting Angus Cheese Burger and ordered one to match my Strawberry Shake. They would later turn out to be a lovely pair in my mouth and tummy!
My parents-in-law shared this Banana Split (P240) and they enjoyed it a lot!
This was my SIL's order, a Vanilla Sundae (P75). Nice presentation, need I say more?
The hubby got this for himself, a Chocolate Shake (P100) served in a tall glass.
And just like I said earlier, a Strawberry Shake (P100) for me which I finished fast!
All the ice cream treats we ordered were good. And surprisingly, they were priced reasonably. The hubby's family noted, though, that the old store used to serve a lot more ice cream treats which cannot be found on the menu today. How sad. Maybe they're going to add more soon? We hope so.
What I liked about the new Magnolia Flavor House is that they now serve snacks aside from ice cream. Like this Angus Cheese Burger (P185) which I shared with the hubby. It came with yummy potato wedges which were simply delicious we hoped we could order it separately! The burger patty, on the other hand, was moist and tender. I could also taste it was made from 100% pure beef. Super nice.
Despite the slow service (understandable because they're still on soft opening), we are gonna be back to Magnolia Flavor House soon! :)
