Happy 1st Anniversary to King Chef Seafood Restaurant, Lucky Chinatown Mall!

Last Saturday, I, along with my Superf Nicely, attended the first anniversary of King Chef Seafood Restaurant at Lucky Chinatown Mall in Binondo. It was well-attended by members of the media, bloggers, investors, suppliers and friends of the famous Chinese restaurant. The guests were treated to a sumptuous lauriat lunch composed of King Chef specialty dishes. Everything we ate was delicious and as we had expected, the feast they served us was fit for a king. Now, that's the King Chef promise that they deliver to their customers every single day.

While the lauriat lunch was being served, there was a program that featured some slideshows and speeches from the people behind King Chef as well as parlor games where the lucky winners received King Chef GCs. Everybody, including yours truly, went home with a happy tummy and of course, wishing King Chef - Lucky Chinatown branch more fruitful years in the competitive dining scene of Binondo.

Below are food photos from the lauriat lunch we had:

King Chef first opened in Banawe, QC on June 30, 2011. It's the baby of the Ang couple -- Michael and Maritess. Today, King Chef already has three branches: two in Banawe (King Chef Fine Dining and King Chef Dimsum Kitchen) and one in Binondo (King Chef-Lucky Chinatown Mall). It's amazing how in just a span of two years, King Chef has already made a name for itself and gained a loyal following among Filipino-Chinese families and Chinese-food lovers alike.

Dole Cook-Off at MIHCA-Makati

Last Friday was fun. I got the chance to witness the great Dole Cook-Off held at the Magsaysay Institute for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) inside Walter Mart Mall on Chino Roces Avenue, Makati. The event also launched the brand’s new line of tomato sauces.

Chef Jeremy Favia, one of the rising young chefs in television today, did a cooking demo featuring several easy-to-make recipes using the new Dole tomato sauce. He also acted as guest judge in the cook-off among the guests (pasta cooking) which was eventually won by fellow food blogger Enzo Luna of JuanManilaExpress.com.

Seattle’s Best Coffee Bloggers Event

Last Saturday at Seattle’s Best Coffee-Greenbelt 3, I joined in a morning of fresh conversations with my fellow food bloggers over great coffee and even greater brunch fares. We just hanged out there for a few hours like we owned the place. To think that it was a holiday being Bonifacio Day, everyone was in a bright mood. The ambiance at Seattle Best was very relaxing. I love the framed photos on the wall featuring scenes of daily life in Seattle, U.S.A. Times like this are always fun.

Aside from the generous servings of gourmet food and coffee concoctions (I had the Double Chocolate Mint ice-blended coffee and the big breakfast of pancakes, wheat bread, three small sausages, slices of bacon and two sunny-side up eggs), the bloggers event was graced by one of the Top 10 Seattle Best Customers, international publicist Joyce Ramirez. We got to chat and take our photos with her. Cool, ayt?

If other coffee shops give out planners to loyal customers during Christmas, Seattle’s Best also has its own gimmick. Read on:

The Much-Anticipated Sweet Surrender Dessert Expo!

I love desserts. I guess I got my sweet tooth from my mom. They say for every dessert lover, there is a corresponding dessert. I think my perfect match is a slice of sinful, flourless chocolate cake. This Saturday, November 13, 2010, a big dessert event is happening at Sitio Elena (Ortigas Extension) dubbed as 'Sweet Surrender.' For dessert lovers out there, this is your chance to find out which dessert is the most suited to you.

SM Food Court Wants You to Have a Family Feast Everyday!

SM Food Court organized a food event for bloggers last Saturday afternoon at SM City San Lazaro in Manila. The venue was near our place so we jumped at the opportunity to attend this event. We had a fun food trip with the other bloggers and I even won a large schublig pizza from Lots'a Pizza in the raffle! Below are photos of the feast especially prepared for us:

All the food I sampled didn't disappoint. They were all good and I assume, affordable, eh? The way I looked at it, it seemed SM Food Court has it all. From fast food items to home-cooked meals...name it, they surely have it.
